When a minister retires or resigns and is paid for their unused vacation time, are these hours considered regular salary only or should the hours be based on their housing allowance as well?
Answer
That probably depends on how vacation hours are figured. The majority of vacation time is not based on a minister’s housing allowance.
However, some church financial administrators may use a method involving housing allowance.
Whether you do use this method or another, please use the link below to comment on how you figure your retired minister’s unused vacation time.
Thank you for taking the time to help your fellow church volunteers/staff.
